Weather and time
Union Pacific's tracks run past the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley, and this fixed camera looks south along them. Old red-brick and concrete industrial buildings face the line across a quiet street.
The line is Union Pacific's Greeley Subdivision, a freight corridor that links Denver with Cheyenne, Wyoming, and the camera stands near milepost 51.6. Greeley is the seat of Weld County, on the plains of Colorado's Front Range. The museum next to the tracks is devoted to model railroading and sits on 10th Street.
The view never changes. A main track and a second track run from the lower left toward the horizon on the right, with a pile of ballast in the foreground. A red stop sign stands on a post by the rails, and a fenced compound with green gates is on the left.
