Weather and time
This camera in Folkston, Georgia, looks along a double-track CSX line toward a grade crossing and the Main Street shops. Spanish-moss oaks line the far side of the street, and a signal mast with a crossbuck stands beside the crossing.
Folkston is a small town in Charlton County, in southeastern Georgia near the Florida line. It is known as the home of the Folkston Funnel, where CSX's Nahunta and Jesup Subdivisions converge on the Folkston Cutoff, built in 1901 and now part of CSX's A Line. The cutoff carries freight and Amtrak's Florida services through the middle of town.
The view changes through the day. Between frames the camera moves from the wide street scene to close views of passing freight cars, a signal mast and the ballast beside the rails. In the wide view, parked cars and a small pavilion-roofed building stand along the street.
