Tianen Maitreya Temple, Emei Lake Live Cam

This pan-tilt camera looks across a bay of Emei Lake in Hsinchu County, Taiwan, toward a large temple building on the far shore. A golden Maitreya statue rises on the wooded hill to the right of the multi-tiered gray roof.

The temple grounds stand on a wooded peninsula of Emei Lake, also called Dapu Reservoir, in Emei Township. The statue is one of the best-known landmarks around the lake. A lakeside trail circles the water, and the Ximaopu pedestrian suspension bridge crosses an arm of the lake near the temple grounds.

The camera does not stay on one view. In the frames it alternates between the temple and statue, the wooded shore with the water below it, and a tighter shot of the roof and upper floors. Foliage in the foreground frames each shot, and late-afternoon light gives the statue and the building a warm tone.
