Shifen Waterfall Park, Pingxi Live Cam

This camera faces Shifen Waterfall, a wide curtain of water pouring over a rock ledge in Pingxi District, New Taipei. The framing stays fixed on the full width of the falls, the pool at their foot and the forested slope above.

The waterfall lies on the upper Keelung River inside Shifen Waterfall Park. It is about 40 meters wide and drops about 20 meters, which makes it one of the widest curtain-type falls in Taiwan. Below the pool the river continues downstream through the hills of Pingxi.

Frames from several days and hours show the same angle, so the picture changes only with light and water. The left side of the rock face stays in deep shade, while the streams on the right catch more sun. In bright morning light a faint rainbow can form in the spray above the pool.
