Huazhong Riverside Park, Wanhua Live Cam

This camera looks across the Xindian River to Huazhong Riverside Park in Taipei's Wanhua District, with the city skyline beyond. Lawns, tennis courts and the white canopy of the riverside campground lie between the water and the elevated Shuiyuan Expressway.

The park occupies flood-plain land on a bend of the river, outside the levee that protects Wanhua, and is reached through floodgates. It has open lawns, a campground, sports courts and cycle paths. Huazhong Bridge crosses the river beside it to Zhonghe District in New Taipei.

Seen from the New Taipei bank, the water fills the foreground and expressway ramps cross the middle of the frame. Behind them rise the blocks of Wanhua, a building with a chequered orange facade and high-rise towers, with mountains on the horizon. After dark, lamp posts trace the park paths and shine on the river.
