This live 4K webcam overlooks Nanfangao Nantian Temple, the First Fishing Port, and the harbour in Su'ao Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. The view takes in the port, where local fishermen bring in their catches, and the daily activity of the fishing community.
Nanfang'ao Fishing Port is a long-standing part of Taiwan's fishing industry. It was the first port in Taiwan to adopt the "out-to-sea" fishing method, which helped the town and the wider industry develop. Nantian Temple, dedicated to Mazu, the goddess of the sea, serves as a spiritual centre for locals and visitors. Mazu is revered in Taiwanese culture as the protector of fishermen and sailors, and worshippers come to the temple to pay homage and seek blessings for safe voyages and good catches.
