Weather and time
Tullbron, the old stone arch bridge over the Ätran river in the centre of Falkenberg, Halland, is seen here from above. Behind it the river widens past a park on the left bank and apartment buildings on the right.
The bridge was built between 1756 and 1761 to replace a worn-out wooden crossing, and its five stone arches stretch for about 80 metres. Travellers paid a toll to cross it until 1914, which is where the name, meaning Toll Bridge, comes from. Tullbron has been a listed building since 1984 and still carries road traffic today.
The camera looks down on the bridge from a high point on the riverbank, so the whole row of arches fits into the frame. A flagpole with the Swedish flag stands in the foreground, cars cross the bridge, and the river flows between the stone piers below the arches.
