Weather and time
This camera looks east across the cobbled Market Square of Stary Sącz, where parked cars line the stones in front of low historic houses. A church tower with a domed spire rises above the rooftops on the right, and wooded hills close the horizon.
Stary Sącz lies in the fork of the Dunajec and Poprad rivers in southern Poland and was first recorded in 1257. Its history is tied to the Poor Clares convent founded by Saint Kinga, still standing nearby. The town hall in the middle of the square burned in 1795 and was never rebuilt. The old town and the convent are listed together as a Historic Monument of Poland.
Across the square stands the white Dom na Dołkach, a 17th-century burgher house that survived the fire and now holds the regional museum. Trees shade the left of the view, and single-storey houses with grey roofs line the right.
