Maasvlakte Beach, Rotterdam Live Cam

This camera overlooks the North Sea beach at Maasvlakte, in the Rotterdam port area, from a lifeguard post. It looks across the sand and dune grass to the breaking waves and an open sea horizon.

Maasvlakte is land reclaimed from the sea at the western edge of the Port of Rotterdam, and its beach runs along the Maasvlakteboulevard. Dunes line the shore, with numbered parking areas behind them and steps leading down to the sand. Walkers and swimmers use the beach in season, and lifeguards keep a post between the car parks.

The camera is mounted about 10 metres up on the post and turns between views. Some frames show the surf and the line of the shore, while others look along the dunes toward tall blue posts and the coast stretching away into the haze.
