Nieuwe Waterweg Mouth, Hoek van Holland Live Cam

This camera looks over the mouth of the Nieuwe Waterweg from a high-rise in the centre of Hoek van Holland. Rooftops of terraced houses fill the foreground, with a dike, a ferry terminal and the shipping channel beyond.

Hoek van Holland lies where the Nieuwe Waterweg, the ship canal from Rotterdam, reaches the North Sea. Sea-going ships pass the town, and its ferry terminal serves the crossing to Harwich in England. A red-and-white striped leading light and a smaller red lighthouse stand on the dike, while wind turbines rise on the far bank.

The camera sits about 30 metres up and changes direction, so it frames different stretches of the waterway. One view shows both lighthouses with a ferry at its berth, another turns toward the river and the far shore, and a close-up picks out a long brick building at the water's edge.
