Sakai River at Sakai Bridge, Machida Live Cam

This camera watches the Sakai River at Sakai Bridge in Haramachida, Machida, looking across the channel to a concrete embankment wall. A diamond-patterned wall with a wire fence along its top fills the upper half of the frame, and a thick bank of grass and vines slopes down to the water.

The camera stands in Haramachida 1-chome, about 500 m from the busy area around Machida Station. The small riverside plaza Haramachida Shinsui Hiroba is a short walk away, and Taniguchi Elementary School stands on the Sagamihara side. Here the river marks the boundary between Tokyo and Kanagawa.

The view is aimed at the far wall rather than along the stream, so only a thin strip of shallow water shows at the bottom edge. A gauge staff and three level boards on the wall make any rise in the river easy to judge.
