From the roof of the Park Inn at Alexanderplatz, high enough that the orange cables of the building's base-flying rig cross the frame. The square itself is just out of frame below.

The view runs south-west over the square: the red bulk of the Alexa shopping centre at the bottom left, the long facades of Karl-Marx-Allee on the right, and the lit grid of the centre stretching to the horizon. Somebody is often on the way down the cable in daylight hours.

Of all the Berlin cameras this is the highest and the most obviously urban — no river, no trees, just roofs and traffic. It is worth opening at dusk, when the streets light up before the sky goes fully dark.
