Turmfalken birds Corbusierhaus, Berlin Live Cam

An outdoor camera at a kestrel nest box set into the concrete flank of the Corbusierhaus in western Berlin, with a wooden perch fixed below the opening. The opening is a narrow slot cut straight into the wall.

Past the wall the ground drops away to the Olympic park, and two power station chimneys stand on the horizon above the treeline. Birds cross the frame regularly — the one in this picture is well out over the park — and the operator's name and a clock run along the top edge.

This is the outside half of a pair: the other camera is inside the same box. Here you see the comings and goings, the perch, and the light on the concrete; the interior camera shows what happens once a bird is through the hole.
