Auron Ski Resort Live Cam

Auron stands on a shelf above the Tinée valley in the southern French Alps, with chairlifts running up from the village. The webcam looks over the pistes from the bottom of one of them.

The trees are larch, which is what these mountains grow instead of spruce. They turn orange in late October and drop their needles for the winter, so the slopes change colour twice a year rather than staying dark.

The resort works about 135 kilometres of runs to a top height of 2,450 metres, and it is close enough to the coast that people drive up from Nice for the day. The Mercantour national park begins a few valleys east, where wolves crossed back into France from Italy in 1992.
