Weather and time
This view looks down the Eagle Express chairlift on Black Mountain at Cypress Mountain, across Cypress Bowl to Mount Strachan. Lift towers step down the cleared line toward the base area, while the waters of Howe Sound show at the left edge.
Cypress Mountain is a ski area in Cypress Provincial Park above West Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2010 it hosted the freestyle skiing and snowboarding events of the Winter Olympics. Eagle Express, a detachable quad built by Doppelmayr in 2001, is about 847 metres long and climbs roughly 259 metres from its lower station beside Cypress Creek Lodge.
The camera sits at the upper terminal, so the frame follows the haul ropes and towers downhill rather than up the slope. Ski runs cut pale lines through the forest on Mount Strachan, and the twin rocky summits of The Lions rise on the skyline to its left.
