Marie Canine Plaza, Indiana Live Cam

Diggers and bare earth take up most of Marie Canine Plaza in downtown Crawfordsville, Indiana, where the small park is being rebuilt. A metal-roofed pavilion and a row of conifers stand in the foreground.

The plaza occupies the corner of Main and Green streets, and the work in the frame centres on its fountain. Traffic on Main Street crosses the top of the picture, past the brick fronts of the old business district.

Crawfordsville was laid out in 1823 and is home to Wabash College, one of the few remaining all-male liberal arts colleges in the United States. Lew Wallace wrote much of Ben-Hur here, and the study he built for himself is preserved as a museum a few streets from this camera.
