The camera at the Main Chalet of Giants Ridge in Biwabik, Minnesota, faces a chairlift loading station and the ski slope rising behind it. The chalet patio fills the foreground, with the open base area of the slope beyond it.

Giants Ridge is a ski and golf resort on the Iron Range of northeastern Minnesota, in Saint Louis County. The Main Chalet is the base building at the foot of the ski hill, and several chairlifts start close to it.

The camera is fixed and always shows the same view from under the roof edge of the chalet. A stone column frames the left side of the picture, while the chairlift station with its curved glass-and-metal canopy sits on the right. Behind them the lift line climbs a wooded ridge.
