Longview Station East, Texas Live Cam

Platform at the Longview station in Texas looks east over a wide fan of Union Pacific tracks toward a signal gantry and a tree line. Tank cars, hoppers and autoracks roll past just beyond the black platform railing.

Longview, in East Texas, grew up along the railroad in the 1870s. Near milepost 89.6 the Union Pacific Mineola and Little Rock Subdivisions converge, linking the Dallas-Fort Worth side with Arkansas, and BNSF trains run here on trackage rights. Amtrak's Texas Eagle, trains 21 and 22 between Chicago and San Antonio, stops at the station.

The camera is fixed and faces east, so the yard tracks recede toward the signal gantry on the right while the platform edge with its yellow strip fills the foreground. When an Amtrak train is in, its silver cars hide the yard and a departure board with the train number appears across the top.
