Big Sandy Junction, Texas Live Cam

A gravel lot and curving Union Pacific tracks fill the view at the railroad junction in Big Sandy, a small town in East Texas. Oaks and a few rooftops line the horizon beyond the rails.

Union Pacific's Pine Bluff, Corsicana and Mineola Subdivisions meet at Big Sandy. The former St. Louis Southwestern line runs north toward Texarkana and southwest toward Corsicana, while the former Texas & Pacific line runs east to west and carries Amtrak's Texas Eagle between Dallas and Texarkana. The town is a crew-change point, set between the Texas Eagle stops at Mineola and Longview.

The camera shifts slightly along the tracks, between the gravel apron with a signal mast at the right edge and a wider sweep down the line with a radio mast over the trees. Passing freights range from tank cars to autoracks.
