La Plata Lookout Point Park, Missouri Live Cam

Lookout Point Park gives this camera a raised view of the BNSF main line on the east side of La Plata, Missouri. It switches between a long look down the rails, a close view of passing trains and a wide shot back toward the Amtrak station.

The park is a short walk east of the station, beside the BNSF Marceline Subdivision, a stretch of the former Santa Fe main line between Chicago and Los Angeles. Amtrak's Southwest Chief follows the same route through north Missouri. The Art Deco station building dates from 1945.

The usual position looks along two tracks that bend away past a gravel bank, with a white house under a red roof and tall trees beyond. Other views zoom in on the rails and trains, look along the line under a road overpass, or show the station, signals and street crossing to the west.
