East 34th Street Ferry Landing Live Cam

The East River runs away from this webcam at Murray Hill in Manhattan, in New York City in the United States. The ferry landing and the FDR Drive run along the near bank, and the towers of Long Island City stand across the water.

The East River is a tidal strait rather than a river, connecting the harbour with Long Island Sound, and the current through it runs hard in both directions. Ferries from this landing work the routes to Brooklyn, Queens and Wall Street.

Sun off the water in the morning washes out the far bank in this frame. Helicopters use a pad a little further downstream and cross the view regularly.
