Weather and time
This camera overlooks the base area of Snow Valley near Running Springs, California, where several chairlifts start at the foot of the slopes. Its views take in lift stations, the lower hillside and tall conifers.
Snow Valley lies in the San Bernardino Mountains inside the San Bernardino National Forest. The base is listed at about 6,800 feet (2,100 m), and the summit rises 1,041 feet (317 m) above it. Chair 1, with its domed terminal marked LIFT 1, is among the lifts that leave from here.
The camera turns between several scenes. One looks along a lift line past a loading station marked 13 and parked pickup trucks, another follows the towers up the open slope, and a wider shot over a lodge roof shows a patio with blue umbrellas, bike racks and a covered conveyor. Outside the snow season the ground is pale dirt and dry grass.
