Penghu Airport, Taiwan Live Cam

The departure hall of Penghu airport sits in front of this camera, on the main island of an archipelago west of Taiwan. A table of flights and waiting numbers is laid over the picture.

Almost everything reaching these islands comes by air or by the ferry, and the airport is among the busiest domestic fields in Taiwan for that reason. Flights to the main island take about fifty minutes.

Penghu is flat, treeless and among the windiest inhabited places in the region; the north-east monsoon blows through the winter hard enough to stop the ferries. Stone fish traps built in the shallows, some of them centuries old, are still visible at low tide.
