Chike Mountain, Yuli Live Cam

This camera looks out over the green daylily slopes of Chike Mountain in Yuli Township, Hualien, at about 900 metres above sea level. A narrow concrete lane edged with striped barriers winds between the slopes.

Chike Mountain lies on the Coastal Mountain Range east of Yuli and is named after a hardwood oak once logged here. With Liushishi Mountain in Fuli, it is one of the main daylily-growing areas in Taiwan. In August and September the hillsides turn orange, and farmers pick the buds by hand before they open.

The camera turns between several nearby views. It looks across a concrete platform to a rounded daylily slope, follows the lane up to a red signboard below the forest, and picks out a row of tall trees. On clear days the Central Mountain Range lines the horizon.
