Baisha Bay, Shimen Live Cam

This camera overlooks Baisha Bay, a crescent-shaped sea beach on the north coast of Shimen District in New Taipei. It looks down from a grassy dune slope to the sand, the wooden stairs and the surf rolling into the bay.

Baisha Bay is about a kilometre long and faces the Taiwan Strait, with the rocky Linshanbi cape closing its western end. It lies about two and a half kilometres from Fuguijiao, the northernmost point of Taiwan. The name Baisha means "white sand", after the pale sand of the beach.

The view changes between several framings. One looks west along the sand toward the green slope and the Linshanbi headland. Another looks down at a white-roofed beach building with a flagpole by the waterline. A third turns east, toward the seawall, the coast road buildings and the far cape.
