Two lanes sweep through the bend between parapets on both sides, wooden villas sit back behind their hedges, and the harbour basin glitters away to the north-east. The pool of light in the middle distance is the Roslyn shops.

Highgate is a main route between the hill suburbs and the city centre, so the frame is rarely empty during the day and almost always empty at four in the morning.
