Port of IJmuiden, Netherlands Live Cam

IJmuiden stands at the sea end of the North Sea Canal, the entrance to the port of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The webcam looks over the fishing harbour and the channel.

The lock complex a little inland took a new chamber in 2022: 500 metres long and 70 wide, the largest sea lock in the world, built because the older ones could no longer take the ships calling at Amsterdam.

The canal itself was cut straight through the dunes in 1876 to replace a long detour round the Zuiderzee. The fishing fleet and the offshore supply boats work out of the basins on the seaward side of the locks.
