Weather and time

Boulevard Barnaart in Zandvoort follows the dunes north of the town centre, between the coastal road and a broad sandy North Sea beach. The rotating camera turns between the beach and the sea, a row of beach pavilions and the promenade with its cycle path.

The boulevard stretches from Jacob van Heemskerckstraat to the outskirts of Bloemendaal. It is named after Willem Philip Barnaart, who in 1824 succeeded the descendants of Paulus Loot as the chief landholder of Zandvoort. Beach pavilions stand on the sand at the foot of the dunes below it.

Looking south, the camera follows the promenade with its zigzag paving towards the high-rise blocks of the town centre. Looking north, the beach and the dune edge run along the coast, with the chimneys and wind turbines of IJmuiden on the horizon. Closer views show the sand below the boulevard.
