Delta Marina, Kortgene Live Cam

Delta Marina sits on the shore of the Veerse Meer at Kortgene, in the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands. The webcam looks over the pontoons and the boats moored along them.

This lake was an arm of the sea until 1961, when a dam closed it off as part of the delta works. Cut off from the tide it went stagnant, and in 2004 a culvert was driven through the dam to let salt water in and out again; the water has been clear since.

There is no tide inside and no swell, which is what makes it a sailing water for people learning. The former island of Noord-Beveland lies on the far shore, joined to the rest of Zeeland by the same dam.
