Main Crossing, Mara River Live Cam

This camera watches the Main Crossing on the Mara River in the Mara Triangle of the Maasai Mara in Kenya. The view shows a wide, shallow stretch of the river with stones breaking the water and grassy banks under a big sky.

The Mara River is the eastern boundary of the Mara Triangle, a 510 square kilometre western section of the Maasai Mara National Reserve managed by the non-profit Mara Conservancy. Across the border lies the Serengeti in Tanzania, and wildebeest and zebra move between the two areas in the migration season.

The camera changes its view. Besides the wide shot of the ford it shows a dry plain with giraffes far away, a close view of the grassy bank and a wooded ridge on the horizon. Unlike the Fig Tree camera, it looks at a shallow rocky crossing, not a deep bend with hippos.
