Fig Tree Crossing, Mara River Live Cam

This camera looks at the Fig Tree Crossing on the Mara River in the Mara Triangle of the Maasai Mara in Kenya. The view shows a bend of the river with a sandy bank, dark rock ledges and hippos resting on the bar and in the water.

The Mara River forms the eastern edge of the Mara Triangle, the south-western section of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, which is managed by the non-profit Mara Conservancy. The area borders the Serengeti in Tanzania. Herds of wildebeest and zebra cross the river in the migration season, and the water is home to hippos and Nile crocodiles.

The camera changes its view during the day. The wide shot of the bend is the main view, and from it the picture moves to crowded hippo pods in close-up, the high far bank and the sky.
