Weather and time

This camera looks at the Nogawa River beside Ichirizuka Bridge in Kokubunji, where a tall wall of stone-patterned blocks drops into clear water. A banded water-level staff stands against the wall, and a dark culvert opening sits at the upper right.

The camera stands in Higashimotomachi 3-chome, Kokubunji, a district just south of Kokubunji Station, which is about 450 m to the north. The road known as Kokubunji Kaido runs only about 60 m away. The Nogawa begins as spring water in eastern Kokubunji and flows on through western Tokyo to meet the Tama River at Futakotamagawa in Setagaya.

The wall bends in a sharp corner at the centre of the frame, so the camera sees two faces of the stonework at once. Leafy plants grow along the top edge of the wall, and the culvert mouth at the right opens straight onto the water.
