Nemo's garden, Noli Live Cam

Nemo's Garden is a set of air-filled domes anchored to the seabed off Noli, in Liguria, with plants growing inside them. Several cameras share the feed, one to a dome, alongside a panel of instrument dials.

The point of putting a greenhouse underwater is stability. The sea holds the temperature steady day and night, and fresh water condenses on the inside of the dome and runs back down, so the plants are watered by evaporation from below them.

The project started in 2012 and has grown basil, lettuce, strawberries and beans at depths of six to ten metres. Divers tend the pods, and the whole installation is lifted each autumn before the winter storms.
