Contrada Balsima, Gioiosa Marea Live Cam

This coastal webcam looks from the hills above Gioiosa Marea over the Tyrrhenian Sea on the north coast of Sicily. Wooded ridges fall steeply to the shoreline, with the town and its long beach at the lower right.

Gioiosa Marea lies in the province of Messina, between Capo Calavà and Capo d'Orlando. Contrada Balsima is a rural district in the upper part of the municipality, among olive groves and scattered houses. The ridge in front of the lens rises toward Pizzo di Colasacco, and the hill village of Piraino lies beyond it to the west. Capo d'Orlando closes the view.

The camera is fixed and always shows this stretch of coast. From its height it takes in the whole line of the coast, from the wooded slopes below the lens to the open sea on the right.
