Saint-Trojan Pier, Oléron Live Cam

This wide-angle camera looks east from the shore at Saint-Trojan-les-Bains along a long wooden pier that runs out over the sand. A flag flies from a post at the far end of the walkway.

Saint-Trojan-les-Bains is in the southern part of Oléron, on the side that faces the Coureau d'Oléron, the channel between the island and the mainland. The commune is known for its small oyster-farming port, its pine forest and a little tourist train that runs between two beaches.

The foreground shows rippled sand with scattered shells and the long striped shadow of the pier railing, while beyond the pier the shallow water holds moored small boats and the occasional sailing dinghy. A low, flat shoreline on the far side marks the mainland.
