Weather and time
This view looks along the harbour channel of Mornac-sur-Seudre, a small port village on the Seudre estuary in Charente-Maritime. Terracotta roof tiles fill the lower left and a café terrace with black parasols sits at the lower right.
Mornac-sur-Seudre lies on the left bank of the Seudre, at the edge of the Arvert peninsula and the wide salt marshes of the Marennes-Oléron basin. The village grew around its fishing port and a historic centre of narrow medieval lanes, a covered market and the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre. It is listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
In the frame, a stone quay with bollards and red buoys lines the right side of the channel, while a moored boat rests on the muddy bank beside a double-lantern lamp post. Beyond the last houses with orange tile roofs, the flat marshland runs to the horizon.
