Weather and time
This camera looks down on the tracks and platforms of Čerčany railway station, a rail junction south-east of Prague in Central Bohemia. Covered platforms with a blue station sign run beside several tracks under overhead wires, with wooded hills behind.
Čerčany is a small town in the Benešov district. Its station opened in 1871 on the line from Prague to Benešov, and it is also the junction for the Posázavský pacifik, the popular name of the branch lines along the Sázava valley. Historic steam trains call here from time to time.
The camera sits high on the old water tower of the station and points along the platforms, so trains on the main tracks pass through the middle of the frame. A wide fan of sidings fills the left side, and the fixed view lets each train be followed from the far end of the platforms to the foreground.
