Uvala Muna, Žirje Live Cam

Muna bay cuts into the north coast of Žirje, and the stone houses of the hamlet climb the wooded slope above the quay. Boats lie along the breakwater in clear, shallow water.

The breakwater doubles as the ferry jetty, with about fifteen moorings inside it. Sailings connect Žirje with Kaprije and with Šibenik on the mainland, and the webcam is hosted by an apartment house on the shore.

Žirje is the furthest inhabited island of the Šibenik archipelago, with barely a hundred permanent residents. A Byzantine fort from the sixth century stands on the ridge above the village, and olive terraces and rocky coves take up most of the rest of the island.
