Hyde Park, Sydney Live Cam

The Anzac Memorial stands at the southern end of Hyde Park in the middle of Sydney, above a long reflecting pool. The camera looks down the pool towards the building.

The dome inside is set with 120,000 gold stars, one for every man and woman from New South Wales who enlisted in the first world war. It was finished in 1934 and paid for by public subscription.

The park is the oldest public park in Australia, set aside in 1810 on ground already used as a racecourse and a cricket pitch. The fig avenues across it were planted in the 1920s and have been replanted twice since.
