Weather and time
This camera looks east across the base area of Mount Werner in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, toward two lift stations. The blue terminal on the left carries the Wild Blue Gondola sign, and the Christie Peak Express chairlift starts on the right.
Wild Blue Gondola is described as the longest and fastest ten-person gondola in North America. Its cabins climb from the base to a mid-station at Greenhorn Ranch and continue to the summit of Sunshine Peak, a ride of about five kilometres. The Christie Peak Express starts a few steps to the south and serves the lower mountain.
Wider than the close-up of the nearby Steamboat Gondola terminal, this view takes in two lifts and the open hillside above them. In autumn the slope is dry grass crossed by dirt trails, with yellow aspens in front and a row of buildings on the ridge at left.
