Waikiki Beach Live Cam

Waikiki Beach at Honolulu lies below this webcam, on the south shore of the island of Oʻahu in Hawaii. Palms stand between the lens and the sand, and surfers wait in lines over the reef offshore.

The wave here breaks a long way out on a shallow reef and rolls in slowly, which is why Waikiki became the place where surfing was taught to visitors. The sand behind is backed solidly by hotels, and Diamond Head closes the coast to the east.

Trade winds blow across the bay most days and the water stays warm year round. Winter swell hits the north shore of the island rather than this one, so the surf in view stays modest.
