Village Base Area, Palisades Tahoe Live Cam

The Village base area of Palisades Tahoe in Olympic Valley, California, is seen here above the roof of the Funitel terminal. From there the camera pans between several views of the resort's main base.

Olympic Valley lies in Placer County, about 8 km from Tahoe City and about 15 km from Truckee. The Village sits at the foot of the mountain, and the Funitel gondola starts here and climbs toward the Gold Coast area higher up the slope. Around the plaza stand buildings with restaurant terraces, and chairlift towers rise on the slopes behind.

Most of the time the view rests on the green-roofed Funitel building, with the lift line climbing a rocky mountainside behind it. At other times the camera moves to the village plaza, to a barrel-roofed gondola terminal with cabins waiting at the platform and to a peak with a structure on its summit.
