Trinidad Harbor Live Cam

Trinidad Head and the sea stacks off it close the harbour in this view through the conifers, on the north coast of California. Small boats ride on moorings in the shelter of the headland.

The head blocks the northwest swell, which is what makes an anchorage possible on a coastline with very few. A fishing pier stands under the bluff, and grey whales pass close in on their spring migration north.

Spanish sailors landed here on Trinity Sunday in 1775 and left the name, making this one of the oldest place names on the coast. The lighthouse of 1871 still works on the headland, and a replica of it stands in the town above the webcam.
