Zamperini Field is a general aviation airport at Torrance, in the southern suburbs of Los Angeles, and this camera looks over its ramp. The feed carries the tower frequency.

The field is named after Louis Zamperini, who ran the 5,000 metres at the 1936 Olympics and was shot down over the Pacific in 1943. He survived forty-seven days on a raft and two years in Japanese prison camps, and came home to this town.

The airport is hemmed in by housing and works under a curfew and noise rules as a result. Most of the traffic is training flights: the school running this camera teaches on light aircraft built for the job.
