This webcam looks from East Gros Ventre Butte across the Jackson Hole valley toward the Teton Range in Wyoming. A spruce stands on the hillside in the foreground, with a wide meadow and sagebrush floor below.

East Gros Ventre Butte is a ridge in the middle of Jackson Hole that rises several hundred feet above the valley floor and the town of Jackson. From its slopes the whole western side of the valley, where the Teton Range stands, can be seen at once. Cottonwoods mark the line of the Snake River across the flat bottom of the valley.

The frame is fixed. At the far left, ski trails are cut into the slopes of the mountains, and the jagged crest of the range runs to the right. On overcast days the peaks disappear in cloud while the valley floor and its autumn colours stay visible.
