Weather and time
This view from the southern end of South Padre Island, Texas, looks across the water to the two tall lattice launch towers of Starbase. The long zoom crosses open water and tidal flats toward the Starship pads on the distant coast.
Starbase sits near Boca Chica Beach in Cameron County, close to the mouth of the Rio Grande. Brazos Santiago Pass separates South Padre Island from the Boca Chica shore. From the island the launch site is roughly ten kilometers away, so towers, cranes and tanks form a thin line of structures on the flat horizon.
Frames from different days show different framings. The wide view shows the Queen Isabella Causeway curving across the bay toward the mainland, with wind turbines on the far horizon. Zoomed views single out the two launch towers with cranes beside them, or a very large dark production building.
