Weather and time
The view from the SoNo Switch Tower in South Norwalk, Connecticut, runs east along several electrified tracks curving between brick buildings. Overhead wire gantries cross the line, and a tall tree overhangs the near side.
The New Haven Railroad built the tower in 1896 to control the switches where the Danbury Branch leaves the main line, and it worked until 1986. It is now a museum with the original mechanical interlocking. Amtrak and Metro-North commuter trains share this part of the Northeast Corridor, and the Danbury Branch trains split off nearby.
The camera is fixed. The nearest rails run along the right edge of the frame and bend left toward a row of overhead gantries. Brick buildings, a parking garage and a tall tree fill the far side.
