Blue Mountain Beach, Florida Live Cam

A restaurant pier reaches into Choctawhatchee Bay at Santa Rosa Beach, on the panhandle coast of Florida. The webcam looks along the pier and the shore.

The strip between this bay and the Gulf holds something rare: coastal dune lakes, freshwater bodies sitting behind the dunes that break through to the sea in heavy rain and take salt water back in on the surge. There are only a handful of places in the world with them and fifteen are in this county.

The sand is nearly pure quartz washed down from the Appalachians, white enough to be uncomfortable to look at, which is what the coast markets itself on.
