Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Live Cam

This camera looks along the aircraft stands at Reagan National, on the Virginia bank of the Potomac near Washington. Jets come and go on the short taxi between the gates and the runway.

The field opened in 1941 on ground partly dredged out of the river, and the original terminal from that year still stands at the northern end, kept and restored when the new one was built in 1997.

It is a cramped airport by any standard. The main runway is under two thousand metres, the crossing runways shorter still, and the traffic is squeezed onto a site hemmed in by the river on one side and a motorway on the other.
