Eau Gallie River Melbourne, Florida Live Cam

The Eau Gallie River meets the Indian River Lagoon at Melbourne, on the Atlantic coast of central Florida. The camera looks over a boat dock and the water beyond it.

The lagoon is the most biodiverse estuary in North America, a shallow brackish strip running two hundred kilometres behind the barrier islands, with something over four thousand species recorded in it.

It is also in trouble. Nutrient runoff has fed algal blooms that killed most of the seagrass, and the manatees that graze it starved in large numbers through the winters after 2020, which forced wildlife officers into the unprecedented step of feeding wild animals lettuce.
